Dear my amazing class of 2018 and welcome everyone else to this momentous day. We have truly all made it. Words cannot begin to describe how amazing each and everyone one of you are. This year and all the years at golf have been absolutely amazing, beginning from the J.K Rolling Joke that Mia was late in, ending with spending the last day with you guys on the stage of Niles North. You guys make me want to come to school and wake up in the morning, and that's saying a lot because getting up in the morning is hard. I feel so proud to be sharing this school with such hilarious, awesome people.
The truth we all have to face is, all good things must come to an end. I knew this day would be amazing, but, I always thought leaving this school would be easy, and going to high school would just be another day, but with all of you it makes it harder to leave this place. We've been here for 4 years, growing up and getting to know each other more, and more, and I can't wait for all of you to have amazing dreams and go places. Remember to always dream big and you can make it. The good parts at golf and the bad, I will remember it all. Starting from 5th grade and the Daily Geo, to 6th grade and Daily Dazzle, then 7th grade with Mr. Gilman fencing with students, and finally 8th grade, graduation.
Thank you to all the teachers making everyday a fun day to be in school. With the jokes and the games, you guys entertained us and got us learning at the same time, which is probably hard to do with teens, but the teachers especially did an amazing job getting us prepared for high school. I don't know what I would've done without you guys. We have all came so far and all of you can make it. I'm going to miss all of you so much, but I hope all of you feel special on this overwhelming day. Congratulations to the class of 2018.

The End...Or The Beginning?
"Endings are not always a bad thing, It just means something new can begin." and "Too many friendships end with, "we just stopped talking."
I picked these two quotes because they go together really well. Ending aren't always a bad thing since maybe you were coming out of something bad, or something just didn't work out, just like with friends. Sometimes friends have a great run, maybe for years, but it starts getting too extended and boring and even if you don't have a fight you just drift away. Maybe it's for the better and something new to start. Yes Middle School is ending at it's really sad, but it can also be seen as a good thing. We finished a block of our life at school already and now we're headed to a more older and mature place: High School. Something ends and something new begins. We get to go to this new place and experience new things. It's quite amazing how things just work out like that, something ends and something new begins. I'm going to miss GMS with all my heart, but it's going to be a amazing experience to move on and go onto to the next chapter in my life.

Lots of Food
Food, food, food. I love it, you love it. We all love it, but some people are very very picky eaters. I'm certainly not one of those people except for one time. I remember when I was in 6th grade. It was a nice day, just the perfect temperature. There weren't any fruits to eat in the house besides cherries, and I never liked cherries. Like I had never tried them, but I just didn't like them. At the same time I was hungry, so I ate them anyways. Absolutely disgusting. I hated them. The one thing I will never eat will be cherries. Cherry flavored especially is disgusting, like cherry medicine or a cherry drink. Anyways whenever someone asks, "Do you want a cherry on your ice cream?" I'm just like, "Nope." The perfect meal would be anything besides a cherry. No really, I'm serious. The perfect meal would consist of probably some fruits, and probably a salad or some meat, and oh dessert. I will literally eat anything sweet. (except cherries ew) Most people say that they love food, but they don't notice that if they're very picky eaters then they can't say that. They love certain foods in there case, but I love food. Always have, always will.

How to prepare for PARCC 101
So your PARCC testing is coming up, and you want to do great on it. Well welcome to how to prepare for PARCC 101.
The night before your PARCC testing don't eat anything because it's like a blood test and who needs to eat? Also stay up as late as you want on your Snapchat and Instagram because just like food who needs sleep. So after you're done pulling an all nighter. Skip breakfast or eat junk food your choice. Then just take your time, you don't even have to change your clothes just go to school in your pajamas. Then when you get to school late go to a random classroom (REMEMBER don't go to the classroom that your actually assigned to.) Even better go to a 5th grade classroom so you can just pass the test. When the teacher asks why your here just lie because lying is always the answer. Then take your test put random answers because who cares about PARCC. Then in a year when you get your results back, you will see that you got level 1 that means your number 1 as in your the best. Congratulations you're the best!
Disclaimer: If you got to this sentence without crying and having a break down good job, just do the opposite of everything I said. :)

All's fair in love and war
"You must choose love. Always choose love."
Love is like a star, the brightest part of your day, or it could be a cloud the gloomiest part of your day. If people chose love...then things would be different. If people chose love then maybe bad world events wouldn't happen, like the holocaust. Some of Hitler's ancestors were Jewish, and he probably didn't have love for them, maybe if he had love things would be different.
All around the world there are people who love and they try to take away the hate in their lives. Those people see the glass half full and other people who don't believe in love usually hate and don't see the good in people and things. Love is a powerful thing and it can prevent big things. Most people marry for love, but some people may marry for money, I can tell you those people either getting a divorce or not living happy because they aren't living with someone they care about. Love on the other hand is a very different thing, you care about the person and you would do anything for them no matter what. You could find your long lost love. You always need love in your life, Love is like a long lasting loneliness, waiting to be found. You must choose love, Always choose love.

Dear Old Diary
2/24/2018
Dear Diary,
It's a Sunday and there's school tomorrow. Yay. I'm at home trying to concentrate while my brother is yelling in the background. Great way to get my work done. Anyways, I can't believe how fast this school year went, it literally feels like yesterday that it was the first day of 8th grade and I couldn't get used to my new locker. The first couple of days I actually ended up going at my old 7th grade locker.
To think that we're graduating in a couple months is just so overwhelming and exciting. I can remember the first day of 5th grade when it took me forever to open my locker, and now in just a couple months we're going to go to high school. There are lots of mixed emotions because high school is gonna be amazing, but still scary at the same time. Anyways I'll write more later, bye.

Home
Home. It could be a place, a object, or people. We use the word everyday. "I wanna go home." without even thinking what home ACTUALLY is. In the dictionary it says, "The place where one lives permanently especially as a member of a family or household," but this isn't necessarily true for everyone. For me home is my family, it doesn't matter what the place is for me, it's the people that count. The actual house can be replaced, but your family can never be replaced. "Home is where the heart is," means where ever your loved ones are, that's home, and my home is my family.

Pictures of my life
I love this picture because this was the first time when I truly tried drawing, I did draw before, but I didn't give it my all. This drawing was the first time I did and it gave me passion to continue and drawing and see what I can come up with.
This is one of my toys from my childhood, and I remember that I begged and begged for this little thing. It was $7 (ikr that's a lot for this little thing) but I was like 7 and I really wanted it and after begging for a while my parents got it for my birthday and I remember that was literally the happiest day of my life, and it just reminds me how such a little object can make me so happy.
This last picture, represents 2 things, my love for the color pink and my love for Starbucks. My life wouldn't be complete without a caramel frappucinno, or without wearing a piece of pink everyday. These little things just brighten my day and I love them with all my heart.

Soundtrack
1) Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson
I chose this song because the lyrics describe the future for me. The lyrics say, "I spread my wings, and I'll learn to touch the sky. I'll do whatever it takes till I touch the sky. And I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change and break away. This to me means, future college or job. I'll do whatever it takes to achieve my goals and even if it's a risk I would take the chance. This song is inspiring and loved how the lyrics spoke to me.
2) Human by Christina Perri
This song reminds me that no one is perfect, we all make mistakes, and we are all human.
Lyrics: But I'm only human, and I bleed when I fall down, I'm only human and I crash and I burn down, Your words in my head, knives in my heart. You build me then I fall apart.
"Your words in my head." This line related a lot to me because someone can saw a little thing and it would get in my head and keep bothering me. "You build me then I fall apart." My friends make me happy and make me laugh, but no one is perfect and eventually something happens and I fall apart.
3) See You Again by Charlie Puth
This song reminds me of a memory, I had a best friend in kindergarten and we did everything together, but then she had to move in 2nd grade, and this song always reminded me of her because I always had some hope that I would see her again and eventually I did. She came back to visit in the summer and we had a great time, but this song always reminded me of her. "It's been a long day without you my friend and I'll tell you all about it when I see you again." We shared everything and she was one of my first friends so it was special.
4) Beautiful by Christina Aguilera
This song is just a rant, it says, "You're beautiful no matter what they say words's can't bring you down." This is true and not true at the same time, words can really hurt even if you think you don't care you probably do growing up as a teen, but at the same time you should be confident in yourself that you don't care. If you are confident enough in yourself it shouldn't affect you and other people's opinions should not matter. I thought this song had a really good life lesson.
5) Shake It Off by Taylor Swift
This song is just about being mad and forgetting in general. This song taught me that even if you do get mad at someone you can't just be mad forever, if you really love them then you would shake it off and not let other people get to you. Even if it's hard to not let other people get to you, you should just shake it off and move on.

2 Lies And One Truth
Everything about her was a lie. Her parents, her life, everything. Recently she found out she was adopted and her whole world was turned upside down. For 14 years she didn’t know about this and she didn’t even find out by her parents telling her, she found out from a letter in the attic. - - -
Skylar climbed up into the attic, every step making a creaking noise as she went up. She reached out for the door and swung it open and went inside. Her first intent was to find art supplies for her school project, but then she found a letter that said, “to Skylar, my daughter.” She looked at the letter in astonishment, then slowly opened it. She just stared at it for a really long time. It said:
Dear Skylar,
I don’t know if you know about me or not, maybe you're finding out from this letter, but I’m your mother. I'm so sorry I had to leave you, but I wasn't fit to taking care of you. I got to hold you for a couple minutes when they took you from me. I couldn't do anything about it since I was too sick. I hope to meet you one day. I'm so sorry I couldn't be there for you.
Your Loving Mother,
Amy Collins
Skylar looks up from reading and a single tear runs down her cheek. So many thoughts going through her head. She slowly stands up still in shock and walks downstairs."What do you got there?" Says her mom pointing at the letter. She takes it from Skylar and the color drains from her face. She immediately says, "Where did you get this!?"
"In the attic." Skylar says. She just stares at her mom for a while and says, "You never told me? How could you! She was sick and you did nothing!"
"But you don't know what happen-" Her mom starts.
"I don't know what happen!? Are you actually serious?! It says it all in the letter. You should know it looks like you've seen it before..." Skylar yells. Her mom just looks at the ground in silence. The silence gets broken by a phone call. Her mom steps to take the call.
"Hello, oh, hi. Yes. Come home soon something happen. She knows. I mean that she knows about the letter. Yea she found it. Okay just get home soon." Her mother says on the phone.
"That was dad wasn't it. So he knew about this too and decided to not tell me anything either!" Skylar says. Just ask she's saying that her older brother, Jason, walks in.
"What's going on here?" He says.
"Oh, so he doesn't know either? Is he adopted too?!" Skylar says at her mom.
"Adopted?! What's going on?" Jason says. Skylar snatches the letter from her mom's hands and gives it to Jason, who read it really fast and says, "I had no clue about any of this." Her mom tells her to come sit on the couch so they could talk.
"Let me tell you what happen, Skylar." She says. "Your father had an affair with this lady named Amy Collins and I obviously had no idea about this, and then he told me that she was sick and about to have you so we rushed to the hospital and they gave me you. I forgave your father for what he did, but she told us to give you this letter and we just weren't ready to." Skylar just stares randomly into space, lost in her own thoughts. Then she gets up and leaves like no one else was in the room. She feels like the world is frozen and she just keeps walking and walking like there's no end. Eventually she makes it to the one place that is helpful to her now: The Police Station.

New Year, New Me? Nah.
Tomorrow is the first day of school in 2018. I obviously rather not go back to school just like anyone, but there are things that I want to go back for like cheer-leading and the 8th grade play. Everyone on social media is like, "New Year, New Me." and yea if you want to improve yourself then yes, but I don't think you should completely change yourself and to be honest no one can change overnight. I want to change myself in little ways like stop procrastinating. I'm feeling good about the New Year. I mean your still the same person you were last year, but people promise to have a new start, like not getting angry at little things and forgiveness. I'm excited for what the New Year has in store for me since it's the year I graduate and the first year of High School. It's gonna be a fun year.

Lights, Camera, Movie Review
The Thinning
Imagine yourself in the future, there's overpopulation and 5% of the population has to die annually, well you've got yourself the Thinning.
In the year 2039, earth´s resources are almost gone because of over population. The United Nations declare that all nations must remove there population by 5% annually. Some countries choose to remove there elders or they limit only 2 kids per family, but the United States has a different idea. The United States uses something called the ¨10-241¨ also known as the Thinning. The Thinning is a standardized test that you take annually from first grade to twelfth grade, if you pass you live, if not you get exterminated. This movie follows the story behind Laina, the main character, she is a senior about to take her last test, when she find´s out she fails (which in her case is not possible) she uncovers the secrets that actually true, with the help of her friend, Blake Redding. She must uncover the secrets before she gets exterminated. This suspenseful, thriller movie will keep you at the edge of your seat throughout the entire movie because of the amazing music choices it builds up a lot of suspense and it just makes you wait to know what happens next. The dystopian setting is amazing and bring the movie together. There isn't much difference between now and then (2039) but, it explains why there are less resources, since its in the future.
(SPOILER ALERT)
The part that killed me the most was the cliffhanger ending, because I really wanted to know what happen. In the end, the main male character gets sent to the Thinning to die but finds out that there isn't really death you just have to work underground and you get isolated from the real world. It was a great ending but it was a cliffhanger. I still loved it though because it builds up suspense. Not to worry they are coming out with a sequel though.

Presents (Yes, it's that time of year )
Everyone loves getting gifts, obviously, but tell me do you ever know on the top of your head exactly what you want? I never do. When someone asks me what I want for my birthday I just say, "I don't know just get me anything." And of course that makes them even more confused because if I want "anything" they could very well as get me a pet monkey. Kids usually play some trick or their parents (well in movies) where they ask for peace and then there parents say they can't get that and the kids tell them some expensive gift. I mean we've all seen it in movies. I've given it a long and hard thought and finally I know what I want. Presenting (haha you see what I did there) what I want.
I want to have a room "make-over." Yes, I know who doesn't? But I really want one. Everyone has this dream room and of course I have one. My room is great don't get me wrong. but I wanna personalize it. Like add a vanity and a T.V (of course) and a bean bag chair. I've seen so many pictures of pretty bedrooms on Instagram and I just want it to feel like you're walking into that amazing picture. Anyways that's literally the one thing i can think of that I want.
Not this exact room since this is too fancy, but you get the idea. (and for anyone thinking that I searched up "pink bedroom" yes, yes I did. I mean what else would I search up?)
The next thing I want is an iPhone 8. I want an iPhone 8 because who doesn't want the new iPhones. There so amazing, plus I asked for one and my parents said no lol, but still hoping.
I also want new make-up because makeup is amazing. I would want the fancy expensive make-up. With make-up it's like you can be this completely different person for a while. I don't use make-up like every single day, but on special occasions.
I also want new paint supplies, like a canvas and new paints, because I love to paint and I recently discovered this. In painting you can paint whatever you want and it feels like you actually there when you make it really realistic.
Lastly, I would just want a shopping spree, where I can get whatever I want. Which probably sounds unrealistic, but it would be really cool. Just grabbing whatever shirt or outfit you want not caring what it costs.
Anyways that's my list of well thought of things I want, most of which I won't get :) Hope you enjoyed!

Perseverance
"A jug fills drop by drop." This means that even though you're going drop by drop eventually you will fill the jug. Sometimes there will be bigger droplets and sometimes there will be smaller ones, but in the end you will fill the jug. This is like perseverance, if you keep going, drop by drop, you will make it eventually. Sometimes it's gonna feel like you won't make it and it might be a small step or drop, but you will full your jug.
"Perseverance is failing 19 times an succeeding the 20th." If you keep trying, and improving along the way, you will succeed. You'll probably fail many, many times, but if you keep trying there will be a time where you accomplish your goal.

Gratitude
It's November, Thanksgiving approaching. I'm sitting in my room, watching the beautiful starry night and blasting music in my ears. Lost in my own thoughts and thinking about what to write. In the best times, and the worst times we can always be grateful for things in our life. Here's my list of gratitude.
1) I'm thankful for my friends and family, who I can annoy, but they'll still be there for me. Who love me no matter what I do. If they're related by blood or not they always make me feel at home. <3

Binge Watching
I binge watched the movie The Thinning and Before I Fall (which is also a book.) The Thinning was a movie that took place in the future and America was running out of resources so each state had to kill there citizens somehow. Some states killed there elders and some states limited 2 babies to each family, but Texas took an annual test from 2-12th grade if you passed you got to live, if you failed you got sent to the Thinning (from which to died.) It was just a really interesting movie and it had me at the edge of my chair for the entire time. I loved watching it and it was so good. Before I Fall was a book before the movie and the book was amazing. It was written so well and the movie was just breathtaking.

The Outsiders
I relate to Soda-Pop because he's really close with everyone in his family and so am I. He also just tried to be happy all the time and I literally smile all the time. My friends told me to stop smiling and I just could not. I also relate to Two-Bits because he's the joker and he loves to find the bright side of things and I feel like I do that too. He's just funny and he loves to laugh and I love to laugh with my friends and just enjoy everything.

Pencils
If you forget to bring a pencil to class, you can't take notes.
If you can't take notes, you fail the test.
If you fail the test, you fail the class.
If you fail the class, you don't get into a good college.
If you can't get into a good college, you can't get a job.
If you can't get a job, you don't get married.
If you don't get married, you can't start a family.
If you can't start a family, you die alone.
If you die alone, you don't have anyone to come to your funeral.
If no one comes to your funeral, you are sad forever.
Moral of the story- Don't forget to bring a pencil to class

Future Me
In 10 years I see myself in a medical school stepping into the bright light of the world after I had gotten my degree. I know all the typical parents tell their kids to be doctors, but I actually do wanna be a doctor. It's a challenge to learn all the medical stuff and I like challenges. I want to have a nice home and raise a family. I also want to be able to provide for everyone in my family, so not "rich," but I want to have money (I mean, who doesn't?) It's funny, like when you're little you know for a fact what you want to be when you grow-up, but when you actually get there you may not want to be that anymore. I want to avoid not having a job because a job is very important to me and you need job to raise your family. I think that’s the only thing that’s getting in the way of my future except for if I failing med school or something, but I’m pretty sure I won’t do that lol.

My Identity
My identity would be a artist, a best friends, a sister, and a daughter (lol I have a lot.) Anyways I love to draw and drawing makes me, ME. I just draw whenever I'm bored and it's just fun to draw. I'm a best friend and it's my job to be there for them and they're both apart of me and it's very important how they feel and how we are to each other because friendship is special. I'm a sister to my annoying brother, but even though he's annoying I have to set a good example for him an stuff, you know what everyone expects from the older sibling. Lastly, I'm a daughter to my wonderful mom. I think this role is very important because I'll have to take over her "job" when I get older and I get to be a daughter for a little while. These are my important roles in life and it's some of my identity. I'm still growing and experiencing things in life, so I don't know my complete identity, but I know these things for sure.
